Christmas Trees

We picked out our Christmas tree from the same lot where we got our pumpkins at Halloween. My sisters came along to help out. It was freezing cold, but we stuck it out and picked a winner.

Dan's ward had a really nice Christmas party up at Aspen Grove. We got there early and Anda couldn't stay away from all the pretty boxes under the tree. This place was really beautiful and the food was amazing. If you ever have a party at Aspen Grove, you can count on me showing up. Invitation or no.

Speaking of Dan's ward, here is another story I'm just going to post so I can remember it later. The bishop decided on an interesting Christmas program this year. One guy was asked to talk about his favorite hymn, which we all then sang. Then the floor was open to anyone to get up and tell what their favorite hymn was and why, followed by everyone singing it. It went well, I think, but the best part stemmed from Anda's inability to remain stationary when music of any sort is being played. Normally we sit in the back so she won't be a distraction, but the back row was full so we had to sit in the very front. Since this is a BYU classroom, the front is very visible to all. She hadn't had her nap so she was pretty sick of everything at this point in the day, but as soon as the piano music started up, she would shut her mouth and scramble off my lap and onto that dance floor (or lecture space, whatever). Everyone got a kick out of it and I didn't think it took anything away from the meeting, so I just let her do her thing. By the time the last person finished naming their favorite hymn, she was impossible to silence or hold still. But sure enough, as soon as the intro to "Joy to the World" began, she was happily shaking her thing in the middle of the stage. When the song ended, there was a beat while everything was silent, then Anda erupted into applause and shouted "Yaayyy!" Merry Christmas, singles ward.
