[Mostly] Lilah Says

Lilah: [sneezes] I think I'm allergic to...[looks around the room]...tables.

Me: If someone asks you to go somewhere, you always say, "I have to ask my mom." So, what do you say if you're playing at the park and someone says, "Come on and I'll get you some ice cream!"?
Lilah: Thank you!

Me: Lilah, look at my muscles!
Lilah: Those are your muscles?! Can you kill everyone?!

Me: No one loves pink more than you.
Lilah: Peyton loves pink!
Me: But does she love it more than you?
Lilah: No, I love it moreder!

Lilah: Read me this book.
Dan: You read it to me.
Lilah: No.
Dan: Why not?
Lilah: [scrunches up face] BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE MY GLASSES!

Lilah [as we drive past a burned down house]: That house is still broken. Jesus needs to fix it.

Lilah: I want that!
Me: Do you have any money?
Lilah: Yes.
Me: Where?
Lilah: In your purse.

Anda: Don't just eat the frosting. Eat the cookie.
Lilah: I don't want it. It tastes like yucky cracker.

Lilah: I'm sick. My chest hurts.
Me: That's too bad. Your Valentine's Day party is today.
Lilah: I'm just kidding. I'm not really sick.

Lilah: Why did the chicken cross the road? To go to the grocery store! Why did the zebra go to the grocery store? To get some food! Why did the cow get some food at the grocery store? Because it was hungry!...

Me: Knock knock.
Anda: Who's there?
Me: The interrupting cow.
Anda: The interrupting--
Me: MOO

Anda: knock knock
Me: Who's there?
Anda: The interrupting pig.
Me: The interrupting pig who?
Anda: [pause] Oink oink.

Lilah: Knock knock
Me: Who's there?
Lilah: The interrupting guy on the farm.
Me: The interrupting guy on the farm who?
Lilah: [pause] Hey you girls what are you doin' over there on my farm?!

Me: What did you learn at church today?
Lilah: Uh....
Anda: Just say "Jesus."

Lilah: I'm a zombie! I don't need to go potty!

Lilah: What should I paint?
Me: Paint you at the playground at school.
Lilah: I'm going to start with yellow paint because somebody peed on the sidewalk.

Me: [summary of the story of Inigo Montoya]
Lilah: I hate being killed! I like being with my family.

Lilah: How do you say "Spanish" in Spanish?
Me: Español.
Lilah: I speak Español.
Me: You do?
Lilah: How do you say "yes" in Spanish?

Lilah: What if Ben grows up and we need another baby?

Lilah [Making Play-Doh food]: What do you want for lunch? [play doh]
Me: How about a salad?
Lilah: A salad? Is that that green stuff?

Anda's Birthday

Anda is lucky number 7! And she shared that luck with the rest of us for her birthday this year.

I wasn't home from California yet, so Dan handled the birthday pancakes with great success.
Then she opened presents when I got back.
She finally got her bike, after staring longingly at Lilah's for a month.
But that wasn't even the best part! The whole family needed a vacation and what better excuse than a birthday? So we packed up the kids and spent three days at the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte.

Since I'd been out of town, we ordered her a cake from Baskin Robbins that we would pick up on the way to Great Wolf. Dan planned ahead with plates and forks. But neither of us planned ahead with candles, matches, or even a knife to cut the cake. It was a little Benny Hill-esque with me getting the enormous sword knife from the Baskin Robbins manager and Dan running to the gas station next door to buy a lighter for the candles we bought there, but we got it done.
Then we headed to the Great Wolf Lodge itself. No exaggeration: this may have been the most fun we've had as a family to date. They had everything!

Themed rooms;
 Indoor water Park:
 Build-a-trademarked-animal:
 Ice cream:
 Arcade:
 Candy:
And last but far from least, MagiQuest:
Many tears were shed when we informed them that we were not living there now and that we would need to go home at some point. Even after we'd been home for two weeks, Anda told me she was sad that we weren't there anymore and I looked in the rear view mirror to see her putting on a brave face with tears streaming down her cheeks. I'd say that was a pretty successful trip.
Happy birthday, Anda! Thanks for letting us all share in your lucky 7 birthday celebrations!
