Preschool

Anda started preschool today (hence the time I've had to publish all these blog posts). She was very excited and I think she is going to just kick butt at it. I can't wait for her to get home and tell me all about her day.
(You like that pensive, academic, finger-in-the-mouth pose? Yeah. We're definitely going to need to stock up on hand sanitizer for this school year.)

Dance Class

On Anda's first day of dance class, I came home and told Dan that we might want to encourage her to pursue other interests because she seemed to have inherited my rhythm. On her last day of dance class, she impressed us all by being one of the most focused and accurate dancers of the bunch. Her teacher even thought she was 4, because she did so well with focusing and following instructions. I'm not sure how interested she is (or we are) in continuing, but it was fun and cute while it lasted. My favorite was when she would practice her "shuffle stamp" at home. I guess I never took a good video, but imagine a little three year old swinging her leg back and forth as wildly as possible while trying to stay upright and say aloud "shuffle stamp right, shuffle stamp left..." as though it is a very smooth and composed dance move she is performing with great professionalism.

Unfortunately, the girls wore their "costumes" for their last day of class, which was the only time I took video or pictures. Trust me--the tutus and leotards were MUCH cuter. I don't know where they got these Christmas-decorations-turned-aprons, but at least the girls seemed to like them. And Anda sure had fun.

Lilah's Hair

[Pictures for this post have been lost. I cut Lilah's funny looking hair.]

Great Grandmas

We love living close enough to visit the great grandmas!

Here is Nana Grape with all her great grandkids (in Jill's seriously cute backyard).
And here are the girls living it up in Great Grandma Carter's backyard.

Best Friends

This summer I rediscovered a friend of mine from freshman year who ended up living in the same town as us. She has a daughter Anda's age (with my birthday) and just had her second girl in July (on Dan's birthday). We've tapered off hanging out since school started up and all, but for a while our girls were just about inseparable (and adorable). They are still bffs though, so it's a real treat when Anda gets to see Adelyn.
