We got Anda her first swimsuit so she could go in Nana's pool while covering up her problem areas (the fancy neckline distracts from her protruding belly). She had a blast, and looked good doing it.
Dan and I also got to have some fun. We went night skiing at Sundance while Nana and Amy watched the baby. It snowed that day, so we expected a decent base. Unfortunately, it had been a wet snow, so by the time we got there the place was packed with both ice and people. I think I have only been skiing four times in my life, so I am an expert skier. Add to this my desire for maximum personal space at all times and my irrational fear of uncontrollably falling downhill, and you have a recipe for a very tense evening. I fell all three times I went down. I actually don't mind falling unless a little 8 year old girl trips over me and hurtles down the mountain for thirty feet on her face, then turns toward me with accusatory tears in her eyes and sniffles, as I lie there twisted in what I'm sure is a very flattering position wherein my face and rear end have swapped elevations. So that wasn't my best run. Fortunately some nice snowboarders stopped to check on the little girl who eventually went on her way without the assistance of paramedics. By my third time down, as what little snow there was quickly turned into unforgiving ice, the terror+guilt outweighed the fun factor, and I told Dan I didn't mind waiting at the lodge for him, but I was done. By the time I'd returned my equipment, he was sore enough that he was done too.
All in all, it was fun to go out and do something new, but downhill-ice-skating-at-night is probably not going to be a regular thing for me.
Of course, this called for cupcakes.
Today we went up to Layton to visit my grandma, aunt, and cousins. We went out to lunch at Red Robin and noticed an unusual number of Miatas in the parking lot. The Miata Club of Utah was having a lunch meeting there that day. My dad used to have a Miata, so it's always kind of fun to see one, let alone 30+.
Anda really hit it off with her second-cousin, Hudson. He was very cute with her and she was very interested in him.
All in all, it was a fun day for visiting family.

Wait a second, there's a Miata Club of Utah?! I guess I could see where one would need moral support for a decision to own a two-seater car in a state that values minivans and SUVs.
