Harry Potter Party

Over the summer, Anda read the first four Harry Potter books. When she found out his birthday was July 31, she suggested we have a birthday party for him. I thought we'd maybe have a little dress up party with some cupcakes, but then Dan went to London for work and my mom came to visit, so we invited a couple friends to celebrate with us and things...escalated.We ended up with 8+ guests, party favors, themed food, costumes, decorations, and games. It was great.

We played "Quidditch" (kicked around some balloons) while everyone was arriving, then we partied hard.

Sorting ceremony (app on my phone, which ended up putting most of us in Slytherin):
The wand chooses the wizard (musical chairs with wand passing)
Charms class (pin the glasses on Harry Potter):

 Potions class (mixing colored water):
 Transfiguration (charades):
I love Anda's portrait of the fat lady:
Then the feast in the Great Hall:
It went by very quickly, but I think everyone had a great time.
Happy birthday, Harry Potter!
