Lilah turned 2 last week! We dragged out the festivities for about a week and a half, which I think is the appropriate amount of time to celebrate a birthday.
We went to Florida to visit Dan's parents the weekend before. These girls love Grandma and Grandpa AND they love the beach, so it was a pretty good move on our part.
Grandma made some cupcakes for the birthday girl while we were there, although it turned out she could have just set a bowl of frosting in front of her for the same effect with much less effort.
And Grandma got her a little bubble blowing lawn mower, which Lilah LOVES (and so does Anda).
On the actual birthday, I let Lilah blow out the candles on her Rice Krispies cereal bowl, which was about as fancy a breakfast as she cares to have.
I also got perfect 2-year-old pictures of her, which was a birthday miracle since she hates looking at cameras almost as much as she hates smiling on command.
Hannah was visiting Virginia this week, so she came down with Nana and Papa for a little more birthday fun. We did pizza, cake, and presents that night.
Then on Saturday we all went to the aquarium in Charleston to check out the terrifying animals. Well, the rest of us thought it was pretty neat, but it was more of a House of Horrors for Lilah. I guess when most of the fish are as big as you AND right at eye level, it can be a little intimidating.
But mainly we went for the MERMAID SHOW. Even Lilah thought that was pretty cool (for at least five minutes).
It was another good one, Lowly Worm. Happy birthday!

Cutest, sweetest two year old around! Happy birthday Lilah!
