Anda: My baby sister is hiccing-up.
Anda: I AM hold-stilling!
Anda: Mommy, I can't sneeze my nose.
[Note: "whuch" means something like "When can I?" or "I wish I could..." I can't figure out a direct translation. It's a question and a desire. I think it's from Ariel singing "WISH I could be part of your world."]
Anda: Whuch I could go to that big pool? Maybe when I'm 26.
Anda: Whuch I could get a motorcycle? Maybe for my birthday. When I'm 8.
Anda: Whuch I could get a princess camera? Maybe for my birthday. When I'm 18. When I'm five-teen. How about 13?
Me: Do you know why Daddy goes to work?
Anda: So he can get us food and clothes and check emails.
Anda: Lilah wants to get bigger and bigger. So she can check emails.
Me: Anda, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Anda: Check emails.
Me: Eat 3 bites of egg and then I'll make you some jelly toast.
Anda: Why not 2?
Me: Eat 3 because you're 3.
Anda: Why not 5?
Me: Okay.
Anda: Why not 4? I want just 4.
Anda: Who are those?
Me: Those are the eels. Their names are Flotsam and Jetsom
Anda: How about we call them chicken and jelly toast?
Anda: I just want that flower because I'm a person.
Anda: Sorry you have a 'merican flag in your mouth.
Anda: [to me, referring to her Rapunzel dress] When you get little again, you can wear a Cinderella one.
Anda: [singing the the tune of "At Last I See the Light"] And at last we see the baby and it's like a little baby and at last we see the baby she has dirt in her ear and she has mud in her face...[and on and on for at least ten more minutes][the baby was perfectly clean]
Anda: Mama, you like music, don't you, huh?
Me: Yeah. You like music too.
Anda: I like some of the music but you like ALL the music.
Anda: [listening to "Someone Like You" by Adele] Mama is this a brown lady or a pink lady?
Me: It's a pink lady.
Anda: [listens for a while] I think it's a brown lady.
Anda: Jacob, be careful with that watermelon so you don't drop it.
Anda: Mama, be careful with the baby so you don't drop her.
Anda: Mama, can you please be careful on the stairs so you don't fall?
Anda: [watching Sherlock] That lady is talking like Harry Potter.
Anda: [seeing Dan get out the brown sugar for oatmeal] That's for cookies.
Dan: It's for oatmeal too.
Anda: It's for cookies but it's a little bit for oatmeal.
Anda: [praying] ...thank you for koala bears...and please bless Mimi and Hannah so they don't get lost...
Anda: [playing with the magnets on the refrigerator] Mama, what does "make my dream come true" mean?
Me: Well, a dream is something you want, and if it comes true, that means you get what you want.
Anda: I want to play with magnets.
Anda: [as we are searching all over 7 Peaks for Dan] Where's my dad?
Me: I have no idea!
Anda: I have an idea! [Reaches into pretend pocket of bathing suit and pulls out invisible object] It's riiiight here! It's a Cinderella one!
Anda: Do cats sleep?
Me: Yes.
Anda: Does Hannah's cat sleep?
Me: Yeah, she sleeps a lot.
Anda: No, does Hannah's CAT sleep.
[Hannah sleeps a lot too]
I LOLed multiple times. Well said, Anda!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Haidyn doesn't understand the fact either that I will NEVER be little again. She asks for everything and to do everything for her birthday. EVERYTHING. They are super funny at this age!
ReplyDeleteI love that she's so into koala bears. You should try to showcase that more...
ReplyDeleteThis absolutely made my day. That Anda is one funny girl! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pick a favorite of this bunch. I think I like the email checking preoccupation -- because, indeed, I do spend most of my time checking email. Perk of adulthood, I guess.
